Water garden

In this Suffolk garden we had to work with natural springs surfacing at the top of the site near the house. To solve this problem the designer asked us to construct a series of ponds on different levels linked by stone terraces and brick steps. The water is chanelled underground from one pond to another and eventually into an existing lake at the bottom of the garden.

We planted formal box hedging around the main pond and, further away from the house, more naturalistic stream and woodland plants.
